Rider Requirements & Guidelines
What is the age requirement for trail rides?
Riders must be at least 6 years old to participate. For safety reasons, we do not permit children under 6 on the trail, and double-riding (riding tandem on one horse) is strictly prohibited.
What is the weight limit?
For the comfort, health, and safety of our horses, we have a strict maximum weight limit of 225 lbs (102 kg). Riders may be weighed at check-in.
Do beginners need prior horseback riding experience?
Not at all! Our guided rides cater to all experience levels, from complete beginners to seasoned equestrians. Our team will pair you with a horse that matches your skill level and give you a brief lesson before heading out.
Attire & Preparation
What should I wear on the ride?
Pants: Long pants (such as jeans, leggings, or riding pants) are required to prevent chafing against the saddle.
Footwear: Closed-toe shoes are required. Boots with a small heel or sturdy sneakers work best. Sandals, flip-flops, Crocs, and water shoes are not permitted.
Layers: Coastal weather can change quickly. We recommend dressing in breathable layers and bringing a light jacket or windbreaker.
Are helmets required?
Riders under 18: Helmets are mandatory.
Riders 18 and older: Helmets are strongly encouraged, though adult riders may sign a waiver if they choose not to wear one. We provide sanitized safety helmets free of charge.
On the Trail & Logistics
How far in advance should I book?
Reservations are required, and weekend slots fill up quickly! We recommend booking online at least 1–2 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date and time.
How early should I arrive for my ride?
Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. This gives us enough time to complete check-in, fit helmets, go over safety protocols, and mount the horses without cutting into your trail time.
Can I take photos or bring a bag on the ride?
Yes! Small cross-body bags, fanny packs, or small saddlebags are allowed for essentials like your phone, keys, and a small water bottle. Backpacks or large bulky bags are not permitted on the ride.
What happens if it rains or there is bad weather?
Safety is our top priority for both riders and horses. Rides run rain or shine in light drizzles; however, in the event of severe weather or high ocean surges, we will contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund.
